You. All domains that we register are registered in our client's names

How do I transfer files to my web site?
Files can be transferred to the web server using an FTP program (File Transfer Protocol), such as Cute FTP. Microsoft FrontPage users can 'publish' their sites to our server by using the built in publish facility.

I have uploaded all of my files to the server but when I try viewing my site via a web browser I get an error message saying: 'Directory Listing Denied
This Virtual Directory does not allow contents to be listed. ' Why is this?
Very simple this is because you have not uploaded an 'index' file. Your home page must be named 'index' and it must be exposed within the htdocs folder.

What are Click ‘N' Host's DNS Name servers?
These setting are as follows:

Primary DNS = ns0.clicknhost.co.uk
Primary IP = 213.171.192.250

Secondary DNS = ns0.clicknhost.co.uk
Secondary IP = 213.171.193.250

I have uploaded my files but I can't see my site. Why?
2 possible reasons. The first is that you have not uploaded your files to the htdocs folder.
The second reason is that you have not named you homepage index.htm.

What is the path to Perl?
/usr/bin/perl

My perl/cgi script asks for the absolute path to my site, what is this?
/home/domains/<mydomain.com>/user/htdocs

where <mydomain.com> is the name of your domain without the www..

If you are on an Linux domain the path is:
/home/nasxx/<m>/<mysite.co.uk>/user/htdocs

What is the path to sendmail?
/usr/sbin/sendmail

How do I enter my virtual control panel?
Site administrators use the URL: http://cp.yourdomain.co.uk Once you enter this URL, you will be prompted for the site administrator's user name and password which we supplied to you.

What type of servers are you running?
We run Brand new RedHat Linux servers and Windows 2003. You have the choice when ordering.

Do I get an email address with my hosting package?
Yes. You are able to have email such as info@yourdomain.co.uk

How do I set up sub domains?
Just send any sub domains you require along with your account username and password to: support@streamlinenet.co.uk and we will set them up for you.


CONTROL PANEL :

I cannot login to the control panel, why?
If you are on a Home User account then please note you do not receive a control panel.

How do I log into my control panel?
Log in via: http://cp.yourdomain.co.uk.


FTP ISSUES:

What is FTP?
FTP stands for File Transfer Protocol. Its the method used to transfer files from one computer to another.

How do I transfer files to my web site?

What are my FTP settings?
These are the settings that should be used:

Ftp host name: ftp.yourdomainname.co.uk
Username: yourdomainname.co.uk
Password: password
Default or remote directory: htdocs

I have uploaded my files but I can't see my site. Why?
2 possible reasons. The first is that you have not uploaded your files to the htdocs folder.
The second reason is that you have not named you homepage index. Also the index file must be exposed within the htdocs folder.

What should I call my homepage?
It is always recommended that you call your homepage index. This way your homepage will automatically be loaded when someone visits your web site.


E-MAIL:

What is my SMTP outgoing mail server ?
This is provided by your ISP. For example if you connect to the internet with BT your SMTP server might be smtp.btclick.com. The main reason for this is to prevent spammers using our servers to relay messages.

I cannot recieve my incoming mail, why?
We would suggest double checking your settings. Also please remember that your 'username' is the FULL e-mail address.

Why can't I log in to web mail?
Please note that your username when logging into your web mail is your full e-mail address.

CGI SUPPORT:

Can I run CGI scripts on your servers?
Yes. You can run most scripts written in Perl or C++

Where in my webspace do I install my CGI scripts?
CGI scripts can be run from any directory. However, it is recommended that you use the main cgi-bin directory, for ease of management

What is the path to Perl?
/usr/bin/perl

BILLING:

I ordered a hosting package with a free domain and have been charged for the domain, why?
We include a free UK domain registration or transfer with all hosting packages. However if you ordered a US domain registration or transfer there is an extra charge. For more information please see the domain page

When my account expires will you automatically bill me ?
Yes our system will automatically bill you 1 week before your account is due to expire.

I do not have a credit card. How can I buy hosting?
Unfortunately we only accept online payments, this ensures that we can offer best value for money to you!

I have been re-billed and have not received an invoice. How do I get an invoice?
Invoices for re-billing must be requested by sending an e-mail to: sales@clicknhost.co.uk.

CONTACTING US:

I have been trying to contact you via e-mail for days and have had no reply, what is the problem?
Our e-mail system will sometimes not allow certain peoples e-mails through due to the spam filters that we run. This is very rare and if you feel this is a problem then please e-mail: emergency@clicknhost.co.uk this address does not have a spam filter on it.
